I was at a party, mixed with a few friends, a few strangers. The night was classic…dark, rainy, seductive You were supposed to be by my side, but no. I called you, no answer. I couldn’t help it. I was alone.
I brooded around for a while, Drowning my sorrows in the alcohol I finally allowed myself to enjoy the moment for what it was, And decided to dance I let myself go, felt the music pulse through my body The loud music-smoke filled room, exquisite Then those eyes I couldn’t help it. I was alone.

So does my regret… My nights are no longer filled with long contemplation Of whether or not I was wrong or right I no longer regret the things I said Or spend my days lying in bed
As the photos fade So do the memories… I’m not reminiscent upon the days we shared The time your little sister walked in on us The days spent, for no reason, on the city bus The wrestling matches we had Even though the dire times, weren’t so bad
